Sharing Practices

I am encouraged by good teaching but I think that I am even more motivated by good practices. Several years ago I was watching a short video of a project at SOMA Communities in Tacoma. In that video, there was a clip of a group praying over an individual. My attention was captured by a young boy participating in that prayer. That image set some things in my mind that I wanted to see happen in the church. In the months and years that followed I delighted to see the participation of children in the community group that met in my home and to see, in particular, children praying for the church and for the adults of the group. We sometimes participate in communion around small tables in groups of five to ten. I now delight to see children offering the bread and the juice to the adult next to them as they had themselves received it, saying, “The body of Christ—broken for you. The blood of Christ—shed for you.” I want to set one section of this site aside for the sharing of practices.

Practices will appear as posts on the home page. They are tagged sharing practices.
